About Us
Legal English Academy is trusted by lawyers, law students, judges, prosecutors, in-house counsel, and legal professionals from more than 30 countries. We combine structured learning and live instruction to help legal professionals communicate confidently.
Our curriculum is taught by Ted Gudeman, a native English-speaking lawyer, notary public, and certified English teacher, and is designed around the real communication skills lawyers use every day.
What’s included?
Legal English Academy combines structured self-study, live instruction, weekly webinars, and a global professional community to help you build practical Legal English skills.

Join 24 interactive live sessions every week in small groups with legal professionals from around the world.
We offer two live session blocks each day, Monday through Thursday. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced sessions rotate throughout each block. Each live session is approximately 50 minutes.

Meet the Instructor
The program is led by Edward (Ted) Gudeman, a native English speaker, lawyer, notary public, and certified English teacher, with more than 9 years of experience in legal practice and teaching English for more than 15 years.
Ted currently practices through his own boutique law firm in Costa Rica and has also served at the General Directorate of Migration and Foreign Affairs, UNHCR, and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. His approach combines practical legal experience with professional language instruction to help legal professionals communicate confidently in English.
